Job Title: CNC Machinist – Mazak (Mazatrol Programmer)

Location: Cramlington

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours: 35 hours per week (2-week rotating shifts)

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with strong Mazak and Mazatrol programming skills to join our precision engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a professional environment with access to advanced CNC machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead daily operations of Mazak CNC machines.
• Set and operate Mazak CNC machines using Mazatrol programming.
• Work to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
• Select appropriate cutting tools and determine correct cutting speeds.
• Plan efficient sequences of operations for each job.
• Safely position materials and inspect raw materials for quality and specifications.
• Conduct routine maintenance of machine tools.
• Inspect finished components to verify dimensions meet specifications.
• Interpret detailed engineering drawings.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Proven experience in CNC milling and/or turning.
• Essential experience with Mazak CNC machines and Mazatrol programming.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Strong grasp of mathematics, including geometry and algebra.
• Good visualization skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of material properties used in machining.
• Experience with precision measuring tools.
• Live tooling experience is an advantage.

Shift Pattern & Pay:

• Basic Hourly Rate: £15.37
• Shift Premium: Additional one-third uplift, approx. £20.50 per hour
• Annual Salary (including shift premium): £37,310
• Shift Rotation:
• Week 1: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 2:30pm
• Week 2: Monday – Friday, 2:30pm – 10:00pm

Note: Shift patterns may change based on business needs and could include night shifts.

Overtime Rates:

• Monday to Saturday: 1.5x hourly rate
• Sunday: 2x hourly rate
