Job Description:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CNC Machinist (Milling and Turning) to join a world-leading engineering manufacturer with over 45 years of experience. You will work on technically complex products and assemblies for flagship UK projects and programs.

The CNC Machinist will work on high-quality, high-integrity parts in various materials. The role is challenging and rewarding.

Note: Due to the security level of the projects, British Nationality is required for this role.

Salary, Hours, and Benefits:
  • 39 hours per week, Day & Night Shift rotation
  • 33 days holiday including bank holidays
  • Sick pay

This role is commutable from Derby, Nottingham, Sutton in Ashfield, Alfreton, Ilkeston, Chesterfield.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Apprenticeship trained, time served, NVQ level 3 or higher
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work effectively in a team
  • Minimum 3 years experience in precision machining of large components
  • Experience with control systems (Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, Mazatrol) preferred
  • Exposure to industries such as Nuclear, Power Generation, Aerospace
  • Proven experience working to high precision tolerances
  • Experience with various materials
Key Responsibilities:
  • Machining high integrity parts in various materials (nickel alloys, stainless steels, titanium, aluminium, carbon steels)
  • Programming, setting, and operating machines, including proving out new programs
  • Ensuring parts are machined correctly the first time and on schedule
  • Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
  • Following route card instructions and completing documentation
  • Reading and understanding engineering drawings
  • Using workshop measuring equipment
  • Performing in-cycle deburring and equipment maintenance
  • Identifying and suggesting improvements
  • Accurately logging all working hours
