Job description

Elevation Recruitment are working on behalf of an aerospace manufacturer to recruit a skilled and experienced Machinist / CMM Inspector.

Location: Sheffield
Shift: Mornings & Afternoons
Salary: £33,471 (including shift allowance)

Role:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating, setting, and programming CNC machines, as well as performing precise inspection tasks using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).

Responsibilities:
  1. Set up, operate, and program CNC machines to produce components according to technical drawings and specifications.
  2. Conduct first-off and in-process inspections using CMM and other measuring tools to ensure components meet quality standards.
  3. Interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  4. Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  5. Maintain accurate records of inspections, measurements, and machine settings.
  6. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve any machining or quality issues.
  7. Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Proven experience as a Machinist, CNC Operator, or similar role.
  2. Proficiency in programming and operating CNC machines.
  3. Experience with CMM inspection, including programming and operation.
  4. Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances.
  5. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  7. Good communication skills.
