Job summary

IWS M&E offers a Machining Technician Level 3 apprenticeship in the UK. You will work with experienced engineers to learn lathe and milling operations while progressing toward a recognised qualification.

Train to produce precision components to tight tolerances for water and wastewater engineering applications, with full-time employment potential upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Essential GCSE English and Maths at level 4.
• Essential GCSE Science at level 4.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production.
• Take precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
• Select the appropriate machine and settings for a given task.
• Plan the proper sequence of tasks to complete an assignment.
• Monitor production and adjust feed and other settings as necessary.
• Check output for quality assurance and document or discard defects.
• Identify the need for and perform machine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Maintain a safe and clean workstation at all times in line with health and safety.
