Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating CNC turning or milling machines in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Skilled in programming and running multi-axis CNC turning centres.
  • Hands-on experience with Siemens and/or Mazak CNC control systems.

Overview

The role is to manufacture high-precision components to exacting specifications within a highly regulated environment, contributing to critical defence infrastructure while developing specialist skills in a world-class engineering setting.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret and manufacture components from technical drawings, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications
  • Program CNC machines directly from drawings or patterns to support bespoke or complex production tasks
  • Set machines based on manufacturing plans, ensuring optimal tooling and operational readiness
  • Conduct conformity checks to validate that finished components meet required quality and dimensional standards
  • Operate CNC milling or turning machines

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential experience
  • Proven experience operating CNC turning or milling machines in a precision manufacturing environment
  • Skilled in programming and running multi-axis CNC turning centres, ensuring efficiency and accuracy
  • Hands-on experience with Siemens and/or Mazak CNC control systems, with the ability to adapt to specific tooling and interface requirements
Qualifications
  • Level 3 in CNC programming, operating and/or machining
