Job summary

A leading engineering company in Stonehaven is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to operate machinery and ensure high standards of quality assurance. The candidate must have a Modern Apprenticeship as a CNC Machinist, strong attention to detail, and experience in the Oil & Gas sector is desirable. This role requires a commitment to safety and quality standards, with collaborative responsibilities across departments.

Qualifications

  • Must have experience as a CNC Machinist, ideally with a Modern Apprenticeship.
  • Desirable experience in the Oil & Gas sector and familiarity with various machine tools.
  • Manual machining experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machinery for drilling, boring, and milling tasks.

Job description

About the role – As a CNC Machinist, you’ll be an integral part of our Machining department, responsible for the safe and accurate operation of machinery including:

You’ll contribute to maintaining our high standards in quality assurance, client satisfaction, and workplace safety.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate CNC machinery for drilling, boring, and milling tasks
  • Maintain machinery and consumables in line with manufacturer guidelines
  • Ensure traceability and compliance with our Quality Assurance System
  • Work safely and responsibly, protecting yourself, colleagues, and the environment
  • Meet client specifications and production targets
  • Collaborate with team members across departments to support production goals

Qualifications & Experience–

Essential:

  • Time-served CNC Machinist (e.g., Modern Apprenticeship)

Desirable:

  • Experience with a variety of machine tools
  • 5+ years in the Oil & Gas sector
  • Familiarity with Mazak Integrex (turning/milling)
  • Manual machining experience

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to engineering
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Developed numeracy and computer literacy skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
