Job description

Position: CNC Machinist

Location: Newton Abbot

Hours of Work: Monday- Thursday 8am-4.30pm

Early finish on a Friday 8am-3.30pm

Pay: Willing to negotiate depending on experience

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a CNC machinist specialising in marine propulsion on behalf of their
client.

The Role:
You'll be working hands-on in the workshop, programming, setting, and operating CNC lathes and milling machines. Familiarity with Fanuc and XYZ controls is essential. Your role will also involve the use of a range of manual machinery for operations such as taper turning, screw cutting, and precision drilling.

Key responsibilities:
Interpreting technical drawings to manufacture parts to exacting specifications.
Operating both CNC and manual turning and milling machines.
Using measurement tools such as micrometers, verniers, and height gauges to ensure quality and accuracy.
Keeping a safe, clean, and efficient workspace

Essential Skills & Experience:
Recognised engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 2 or higher preferred)
Strong background in CNC machining (turning and milling)
Competency in using Fanuc and XYZ machine controls
Confident in setting tooling and working independently to tight tolerances
Manual machining experience (lathe/mill operations)
