Job description

Job Title: CNC Machinist

Join our team as a CNC Machinist, responsible for manufacturing parts using CNC and conventional machining equipment. Ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.

1. Operate CNC machines, including Mazak with Mazatrol, and conventional equipment such as manual machines and saws.
2. Plan and program machining jobs from drawings, CAD files, and work schedules.
3. Set up, prove out, and run CNC programs, including editing EIA programs.
4. Design and manufacture fixtures and work holding devices.
5. Assemble tools and toolholders, and set with a presetter.
6. Determine work holding, tool holding, and tooling requirements, working independently or with team members.
7. Anticipate tooling and material needs; check inventory and coordinate with supervisors for orders.
8. Maintain accurate manufacturing documentation and update as required.
9. Perform preventative maintenance and repair on equipment to ensure functionality.
10. Maintain a clean and organized work area, complying with safety procedures.
11. Arrive on time, work overtime and weekends as needed, and take ownership of your work.
12. Follow all safety regulations and company policies.
13. Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma in machining or related technical training; post-secondary certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience operating CNC machines, preferably in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
• Experience with Mazak Mazatrol is a plus.
• Ability to set up, prove out, and operate CNC machines independently.
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments (digital and analog).
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
• Knowledge of work holding, tool holding, and tooling equipment.
• Strong math skills and basic computer literacy.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexible, adaptable, and able to work in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written).
• Ability to produce quality parts on time and to print specifications.
