Job Title: CNC Machinist
Join our team as a CNC Machinist, responsible for manufacturing parts using CNC and conventional machining equipment. Ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Operate CNC machines, including Mazak with Mazatrol, and conventional equipment such as manual machines and saws.
- Plan and program machining jobs from drawings, CAD files, and work schedules.
- Set up, prove out, and run CNC programs, including editing EIA programs.
- Design and manufacture fixtures and work holding devices.
- Assemble tools and toolholders, and set with a presetter.
- Determine work holding, tool holding, and tooling requirements, working independently or with team members.
- Anticipate tooling and material needs; check inventory and coordinate with supervisors for orders.
- Maintain accurate manufacturing documentation and update as required.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair on equipment to ensure functionality.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, complying with safety procedures.
- Arrive on time, work overtime and weekends as needed, and take ownership of your work.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma in machining or related technical training; post-secondary certification preferred.
- Minimum 1 year experience operating CNC machines, preferably in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
- Experience with Mazak Mazatrol is a plus.
- Ability to set up, prove out, and operate CNC machines independently.
- Proficient with precision measuring instruments (digital and analog).
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
- Knowledge of work holding, tool holding, and tooling equipment.
- Strong math skills and basic computer literacy.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to work in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written).
- Ability to produce quality parts on time and to print specifications.
