Job summary

Alexander Mann Solutions - Contingency, on behalf of our client, seeks a CNC Machinist for a 12-month contract based in Inchinnan.

You will work in a cutting-edge aerospace manufacturing facility, operating a range of machine tools to produce high-quality components and ensure dimensional accuracy.

The role requires an engineering apprenticeship and willingness to work multi-shift, including nights, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Recognised apprenticeship in engineering (City & Guilds/NVQ3/SVQ3) or equivalent.
  • Willingness to work multi-shift pattern including nights.
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing operator role.
  • Experience with nickel, steel and titanium alloys is beneficial.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of health, safety (COSHH) and environmental procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings (desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Operate a range of machine tools to manufacture aerospace components with precision.
  • Visually and dimensionally inspect components and critique own work.
  • Load and unload processing equipment as required.
  • Provide feedback to Manufacturing Engineer and team on process improvements.
  • Maintain HS&E standards and a clean, safe manufacturing environment.
  • Work with a team to meet high-volume production targets and follow defined processes.

On behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs we are looking for a number of CNC Machinists for a 12 month contract based in Inchinnan.

Role requirements for a CNC Machinist:

  • Completed a recognised time-served apprenticeship including City and Guilds, NVQ3/SVQ3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline. (Original trade papers must be available for review at interview).
  • Ability to work a multi-shift pattern including nights (payment included in salary offering).
  • Experience of working in a Manufacturing Environment, in an operator role within a volume manufacturing environment, with the ability to safely achieve performance targets.
  • Experience of working with Nickel and Steel and Titanium Alloys would be beneficial.
  • An up-to-date working knowledge of health, safety (including COSHH) and environmental procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings is desirable.
  • We work within a cutting-edge manufacturing facility, so a basic IT knowledge is essential.

As a CNC Machinist, you will be:

  • Multi-skilled Engineer with the ability to use a range of machine tools manufacturing high quality aerospace components.
  • You must be able to critique your own work undertaking both visually and dimensionally inspecting components.
  • Loading and unloading various process equipment.
  • Feeding back information to Manufacturing Engineer and team.
  • Maintaining our excellent quality standards, being an integral part of our manufacturing process.
  • Work within strict HS&E guidelines, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Working as part of a team to deliver customer needs in a high volume, target driven environment to follow processes and procedures to a standard as already defined.
