The Role

1. Maintain the CNC machines on a day-to-day basis and ensure they are running smoothly.
2. Lead and execute test runs.
3. Program machines to customer specifications using drawings provided.
4. Set up and operate both manual and CNC machines.
5. Sourcing the necessary tooling and fixturing for all machining operations.
6. Keep standard operating procedures (SOPs) and setup sheets updated.
7. Continuously improve machining processes where possible.
8. Work in accordance with the company's Quality Control procedures to ensure all parts meet required specifications.
9. Inspect finished work for quality and accuracy.
10. Complete daily checks in line with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) requirements.
11. Maintain a clean and organised work area.
12. Work efficiently under pressure to meet production demands.
13. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Key Skills and Experience

1. Proven experience in CNC and manual machining (milling and turning) as well as CNC programming, setting, and operation. Hurco experience advantageous but not essential.
2. Ability to read and interpret customer drawings and program into machines accordingly.
3. Knowledge of sourcing tooling and fixturing for machining operations.
4. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to inspect and measure work accurately.
5. Familiarity with Quality Control procedures and adherence to safety and TPM requirements.
6. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
7. Good verbal and written communication skills.
8. Strong organisational and team-working skills.
9. A working knowledge of Continuous Improvement practices and problem-solving skills would be advantageous.
