CNC Machinist - Permanent

Location: Derby

Hours: Monday to Friday - 2 shift pattern

Monday - Thursday 06:00 am - 14:00 pm / Friday 06:00 am - 13:00 pm

Monday - Thursday 14:00 pm - 22:00 pm / Friday 09:00 am - 16:00 pm

Pay: Up to GBP35,000

Type: Permanent

Start Date: ASAP

Our client supplies complex, high precision fabricated and machined metal parts and assemblies to market leading companies in the aerospace industry. They are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join their team.

As a CNC Machinist, you will play a vital role in setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machinery to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards and support efficient production schedules.

What you ll be doing as a CNC Machinist:
  • Setting up CNC machines using technical drawings

  • Operating lathes, mills, or other CNC equipment to manufacture parts to exact specifications

  • Performing routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance

  • Inspecting finished products using measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy

  • Collaborating with engineering and production teams to address technical challenges or adjustments

  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace to support efficient operations

  • Adhering to all health, safety, and quality control procedures

What we re looking for in a CNC Machinist:
  • Proven experience operating CNC machinery in a aerospace or automotive environment

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately

  • Skilled in machine setup and tooling changes

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

  • Familiarity with workplace safety and quality assurance practices
