SR2 - Socially Responsible Recruitment is seeking an experienced 5-Axis CNC Programmer/Machinist for a UK precision engineering business. You will own parts from CAD models through to finished components, with focus on complex geometry and tight tolerances.

The role offers hands-on programming and machining on modern CNC equipment within a small, collaborative team environment, delivering high‑quality parts for robotics, defence and advanced engineering projects.

Qualifications

• Strong CNC programming and machining experience.
• Experience with 5-axis machining, including 3+2 and/or simultaneous 5-axis operations.
• Good working knowledge of Fusion 360 CAM.
• Ability to programme, set and optimise CNC machining processes.
• Experience producing complex, precision-engineered components.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
• Good understanding of tooling, workholding and machining strategies.
• Comfortable working independently and troubleshooting machining challenges.

5-Axis CNC Programmer/Machinist

We're looking for an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to join a growing UK precision engineering business working across robotics, defence and advanced engineering.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys complex machining, solving manufacturing challenges and taking ownership of components from CAD models through to finished parts.

You'll be working with modern CNC equipment, producing high-precision components where your programming knowledge, machining experience and attention to detail will make a real difference.

Skills & Experience

We're interested in speaking with experienced CNC machinists and programmers who are confident working with complex components. You don't need to tick every box below.

Essential:

• Strong CNC programming and machining experience
• Experience with 5-axis machining, including 3+2 and/or simultaneous 5-axis operations
• Good working knowledge of Fusion 360 CAM
• Ability to programme, set and optimise CNC machining processes
• Experience producing complex, precision-engineered components
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances
• Good understanding of tooling, workholding and machining strategies
• Comfortable working independently and troubleshooting machining challenges
