Job summary

MANPOWER in Coventry is seeking a skilled CNC Setter Operator for a 12-month contract in a leading aerospace manufacturing environment. You will set up and run multi-axis CNC turning centres to produce precision components to tight tolerances.

The role covers machine setup, changeovers, inspection, process data recording, and involvement in continuous improvement, with day or night shifts and uplifted rates for flexible hours.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience setting and operating multi-axis CNC machines.
  • Experience in a precision engineering or aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Apprenticeship trained or qualified machinist/engineer.
  • Ability to read and work from detailed engineering drawings.
  • Experience carrying out machine offsets and tooling adjustments.

Responsibilities

  • Set and operate multi-axis CNC turning centres safely and efficiently.
  • Perform machine changeovers and setup activities.
  • Produce components to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Carry out in-process inspection using appropriate measuring equipment.
  • Record measurements and process data in line with company procedures.
  • Complete offsets and tool adjustments as required.
  • Perform tool setting activities, including tips and insert changes.
  • Support TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and 5S initiatives.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and quality compliance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and team-based problem-solving activities.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and customer requirements.

£21.07 - £22.48 via PAYE

12 Month contract

Shifts Available

The night shifts will also have an uplift of 33%, current shifts are 22:15-6:00 (Mon/Thurs) 18:00-2:00 (Fri)

Day shift will either be the morning shift; 6:00- 14:00 (Mon/Thurs) 6:00-12:45 (Fri) or afternoon shift; 14:00-22:15 (Mon/Thurs),12:45-18:45 (Fri) which may be rota shifts, afternoon shifts will also have a 14% uplift.

The Opportunity

Working as part of a high-performing production team, you will be responsible for machine setup, changeovers, inspection activities, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring all products meet customer and aerospace industry requirements.
