Hilltop Engineering and Tool Ltd are a premier producer of high quality metal pressings.
The continued growth of our business has led to the need to recruit a:
CNC Machinist
We are a small but busy customer focused press shop, and you will need a flexible approach to satisfying our customers’ needs.
Are you a CNC Machinist with an understanding of Hurco Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines to process and finish metal or other materials according to specifications. You must be able to interpret technical drawings, set up the machines, monitor their operation, and ensure the finished products meet quality standards. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities, the ability to work as part of a team, supporting the on-site fabrication and press shop. CAD experience would be an advantage using One CNC or Solidworks and use of wiring machines, but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Machine Operation and Setup:
Setting up CNC machines by installing tools, fixtures, and workpieces, and adjusting machine parameters (speeds, feeds, etc.).
• Programming:
Creating or modifying CNC programs using CAD/CAM software to control the machine's movements.
• Quality Control:
Inspecting parts during and after machining to ensure they meet dimensional and quality specifications.
• Maintenance:
Performing routine maintenance on CNC machines, such as lubrication and cleaning, and troubleshooting issues.
• Collaboration:
Working with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to ensure smooth production.
• Safety:
Adhering to safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
• Technical Skills: Understanding of CNC programming, machine operation, and various machining processes (milling, drilling, etc.).
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to read and interpret, technical drawings, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Problem-Solving: Identifying and resolving issues with machine operation, programming, or part quality.
• Attention to Detail: Ensuring precision and accuracy in all machining operations.
• Communication: Effectively communicating with team members and following instructions.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
