About the Role

Adept Resourcing is proud to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading engineering and manufacturing business supplying high-integrity cast components to the Aerospace and Power Generation industries.

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join the team, ideally with Vertical Boring or similar precision machining experience. You'll work on centrifugally spun stainless alloy castings, producing high-quality machined components to tight tolerances and detailed technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set and operate CNC and manual machine tools, including vertical borers, to machine large castings to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure all work meets required dimensional and surface finish tolerances.
  • Conduct first-off and in-process dimensional inspection of machined components.
  • Mark and identify alloys accurately and maintain traceability.
  • Meet production targets and timeframes while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Work effectively as part of a small, skilled team with minimal supervision.
  • Follow all company health, safety, and environmental policies and maintain a clean working area.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a precision machining or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Confident working to tight deadlines and production schedules.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexible approach to overtime and shift work.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety and Quality procedures.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.
Desirable:
  • Experience operating Vertical Boring machines or large-capacity lathes.
  • Knowledge of machining stainless steel or nickel-based alloys.
