Job description

We are now recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled CNC Lathe and Turning Machine Tool Setter / Programmer. You will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Based In Alfreton

Duties -

· Setting up, adjusting and operating basic or specialised machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.

· Aligning and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.

· Monitoring the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.

· Studying sample parts, drawings, or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to produce products.

· Measuring, examining, or testing completed parts to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications by regularly inspecting the finished products using precision measuring tools.

· Maintaining equipment in proper condition by cleaning and performing minor repairs when necessary.

What we are looking for-

· Proven work experience as a Lathe and Turning Machine Tool Setter/Programmer.

· Ability to interpret technical instructions and drawings.

· Experience with Star and/or Mazak machines preferred.

· Excellent knowledge of the properties of metal and other material.

· Experience with precision measurement tools.

· Mathematical skills for accurate measurements and calculations in order to produce parts that meet specifications.

· Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of accuracy.

· 4 years machining experience, with a vocational or technical training preferred.

· Problem-solving skills to identify and fix issues that may occur during the machine operation process.

· Knowledge of safety standards and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

· Availability to work shifts if required.
