Worcester Based, £34,678 - £44,065 pa, Band 8-11 (DOE)
Our client, Yamazaki Mazak, is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years.
The role involves setting and operating Studer cylindrical/universal grinding machines, producing a wide and varied range of high tolerance parts used in the manufacture of Mazak CNC machines. The successful candidate will understand Fanuc CNC controls and be able to program, edit, and improve existing and new parts. They will work within a team of fellow engineers to strict health and safety guidelines and rules, promoting a positive culture amongst staff by engaging in H&S improvements and kaizen initiatives.
Essential criteria include a solid understanding of cylindrical and universal grinding, experience safely operating and setting CNC controls, a can-do attitude, and prior experience working within a team in a busy manufacturing environment.
Desirable criteria include the ability to program from drawing Fanuc CNC controls, CNC grinding knowledge, and having served a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship.

Overtime is paid at time 1/3 for the first 2 hours, then time 1/2 thereafter each day, with Saturday at time 1/2 and Sunday at double time.
The hours are a rotational shift pattern: AM Shift - 05:30am - 1:30pm, Monday to Friday, then onto the PM Shift, and PM Shift - 2:00pm - 10:30pm, Monday to Thursday, and Friday, 2:00pm - 8:00pm.
