Job summary

Optima UK Inc Ltd in Leicestershire is seeking an experienced CNC Grinder Operator to join our aerospace manufacturing team. You will operate CNC grinding machines to produce high-precision components and ensure conformance with tight tolerances, under supervision and with training provided.

The role offers a permanent, days-based contract with on-the-job Makino training, a supportive environment, and clear opportunities for progression within a growing aerospace business.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC grinding machinery to produce precision aerospace components.
• Set up machine safely and efficiently.

• Set tooling, workholding and machine parameters where required.
• Monitor grinding processes and make adjustments as necessary.
• Carry out dimensional and visual inspection.
• Use precision measuring equipment to ensure components meet specification.
• Identify and report quality or machining issues.
• Work to aerospace quality standards and maintain records.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.

The Role

As a CNC Grinder Operator, you will be responsible for operating CNC grinding machinery to produce high-quality, precision components for the aerospace sector.

Experience with Makino CNC grinding machines is preferred, however full training will be provided for the right candidate.

About You

We are looking for an experienced CNC Grinder Operator with a strong understanding of precision machining and a quality-focused approach.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience operating CNC grinding machinery.
• Makino experience would be highly advantageous.
• Experience with other CNC grinding machines will be considered.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience working to tight tolerances.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
• A good understanding of grinding processes.
• Strong attention to detail.
• A quality-focused approach.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a skilled manufacturing team.
• Aerospace or precision engineering experience would be advantageous.
