The Client
Interaction Technical are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business within the injection moulding sector. Due to continued growth and investment in their Toolroom department, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Fitter & Toolmaker to support the manufacture, maintenance and repair of injection mould tooling.

The Duties
- Manufacture new injection mould tools, inserts, jigs, fixtures and precision components from engineering drawings and CAD data.
- Set and operate CNC milling and turning machines to produce precision tooling components.
- Carry out manual machining operations including milling, grinding, drilling and turning.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance on injection mould tools.
- Strip, inspect, clean, repair and rebuild mould tooling.
- Diagnose tooling faults and carry out repairs to minimise production downtime.
- Polish mould cavities and cores to required finish standards.
- Replace worn or damaged tool components and maintain tooling records.
- Support production teams with tooling breakdowns and technical issues.
- Assist with tool trials, mould validation and new product introductions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and tooling documentation.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on tool performance, reliability and longevity.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with health and safety procedures.
The Requirements
- Apprentice-trained Toolmaker or equivalent engineering qualification.
- Previous experience working within an injection moulding toolroom environment.
- Experience setting and operating CNC milling and/or turning machinery.
- Strong knowledge of injection mould tool construction, maintenance and repair.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a busy manufacturing environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality standards.
Desirable Experience
- CAD/CAM software experience.
- Knowledge of hot runner systems and valve gate tooling.
- Experience with EDM, wire erosion or spark erosion machinery.
- Understanding of plastic injection moulding processes.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
- CNC programming experience or qualifications.
