Thompson Aero Seating in Craigavon, UK, seeks a CNC Finishing Operative for night shifts (19:30–07:30) in the Machine Shop. You will buff parts, prepare tools, and support production deadlines with focus on quality and safety.

Key tasks include setting up tool assemblies for 3/5-axis CNC machines, tool handling, and strict quality control of finished tooling and parts. Aerned with 33 days leave and benefits, and a strong 5S culture.

Qualifications

• 2 years+ proven experience in a high paced manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of orbital sanding tools and hand filing.
• Good measuring skills using verniers/calipers.
• 5S methodology and orderly work practice.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Strong communication and diplomacy in team interactions.

Responsabilités

• Build tool assemblies for 3- and 5-axis CNC machines.
• Load tools into trolleys/cradles for dispatch to machines.
• Buff finished parts to high cosmetic standards with handheld tools.
• Return tools to correct locations and maintain tooling stocks.
• Inspect and quality-check outgoing tooling and parts.
• Respond promptly to quality alerts and non-conformities.
• Stock standardised tooling cabinets for both roles as needed.
• Report and manage damaged tooling and holders.
• Follow Health and Safety guidelines including full PPE.
• Contribute to continuous improvement within the work area.
• Communicate effectively between operators and supervisors.

The post holder will be responsible for working across all aspects of production operations ensuring that production deadlines are met efficiently, safely and to appropriate quality standards.The CNC Finishing Operatives in the Machine Shop are responsible for Buffing finished parts to a high cosmetic standard using handheld power tools. They are also responsible for providing specific tools to the required machines on the manufacturing lines to ensure production deadlines are met.

This role is for nightshift from 19:30 - 07:30 continental shift pattern in the Machine Shop.

Responsibilities

• Building up tool assemblies for both 3 and 5 axis CNC machines
• Loading tools into trolleys / cradles for dispatch to machines
• Responsible for buffing finished parts to a high cosmetic standard using handheld power tools
• Responsible for returning tools to the appropriate location
• Cleaning and inspecting tools
• Responsible for all quality control on all outgoing tooling and parts
• Responds quality alerts instantly
• Stocking up standardised tooling cabinets for both roles when required
• Reporting and managing damaged tooling and holders
• To follow all Health and Safety guideline including the use of full PPE at all times
• Continuous improvement of work area and outputs
• Communicates well between machine operators and supervisors

Requirements

• Proven experience in a high paced manufacturingenvironment (2 years)
• Knowledge of or experience using Orbital Sanders and/or Hand Fil
• Good knowledge of using measuring equipment i.e. Vernier’s e
• A self – starter with strong communication skills and a diplomatic working style
• Knowledge of 5S
• Proficient in all MS Office packages
