An automotive components manufacturer is seeking a CNC NPI/Training Engineer to optimize CNC machining processes and provide training. The role involves significant travel to India and the introduction of new manufacturing techniques. Ideal candidates will have hands-on CNC experience and expertise in production optimization. This temporary position offers opportunities for extension and collaboration with international teams.
My client is a leading automotive components manufacturer and a part of a multi -billion dollar group. Their expertise spans over 5 decades of advanced composite solutions, design, and manufacture and offers a seamless one-stop service for the detailed design, material choice, laminate design, pattern, mould, and jig design and production.
They operate from a purpose-built facility located in Surat, India and export over 99% of its output to customers in UK, USA & the EU.
They are now looking for a CNC NPI/ Training Engineer - a CNC professional with hands-on experience and knowledge of manufacturing operations, best practices and improvements, with a focus on CNC Machining techniques.
This is a temporary position for a minimum of 12 months with a possible extension.
Initially starting based at home (from office when/if it's opened) in the UK to participate in the design and production process discussion for tooling, component manufacture, jigs, fixtures, interactions with the Indian design, engineering, and production teams, eventually being involved in the support of client and creation of quotations.
When working at the plant in India to introduce the products, participate in constant improvement programs. Support the training team with manual and syllabus reviews, and training of the trainers.
This will involve several trips to the plant in India, every other month there would be a 3-week visit to the plant site, you would not be able to spend more than 24 weeks in a 52-week period in India due to time limits. In the beginning, there may be more frequent travel to develop close working relationships with the Indian team and learn about the business.
