Job summary

CBSbutler is recruiting for a CNC Applications Engineer to join a highly respected engineering firm in West London / Buckinghamshire, designing and manufacturing complex, safety-critical products.

You'll take 3D models and drawings from the Design team, develop the machining strategy, create CNC programs and toolpaths, and prove them on the machine in collaboration with Design, Production, Tooling and Inspection teams.

Qualifications

• CNC programming experience as core skill.
• Experience with 5-axis (and potentially 6/7-axis) machining.
• Proficient CAD/CAM usage for turning designs into machining strategies.
• Experience with Siemens NX and/or Vericut would be valuable; other high-end CAD/CAM packages also considered.

Responsibilities

• Create CNC programs for complex multi-axis machining.
• Program 5-axis and potentially 6/7-axis machinery.
• Use CAD/CAM to develop machining strategies from 3D models and drawings.
• Work from 3D/master models and detailed drawings.
• Take programs through prove-out on the machine.
• Optimize existing programs to improve cycle times and tooling life.
• Support new products as they move from design into manufacture.
• Collaborate with Design, Production, Tooling and Inspection/CMM teams.
• Help develop reliable processes for small-batch, high-value components.
