Job Overview
Location: Worcestershire. Contract: 6 months, IR35. Requires use of an Umbrella Company. No nationality restrictions but the applicant must have lived in the UK for at least five years and possess Right to Work in the UK.
We are seeking an experienced CMM Programmer with knowledge of LK metrology Camio software or PC‑DMIS to create and validate new programmes for new machines. The role involves ensuring the CMM programmes contain correct nominal tolerances, validating that the correct features are probed, and conducting repeatability checks prior to production use.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage CMM programmes to maintain efficiency and accuracy.
- Program, troubleshoot and resolve CMM errors, issues and collisions.
- Assist in creating new programmes to align new machines.
- Validate programmes before use in production.
- Provide training and guidance to all team members for relevant processes.
- Perform final assembly inspection ensuring product conformity to quality standards (drawings/specifications/visual).
- Compile non‑conformance reports and support investigations into technical issues.
- Carry out inspection of rework once completed.
- Collaborate with quality engineers, production engineering and design authority to improve processes when required.
- Support and coach other team members to resolve issues.
- Manage own workload and liaise with the relevant cell leaders to identify and complete inspections in a timely manner.
- Generate, collate, update and maintain FAIRs using Visual Fair.
- Conduct manual inspections using hand tools (micrometres, height gauges, shadowgraph) to verify parts and assemblies meet required specifications.
- Create inspection methods for non‑standard inspections.
- Carry out internal audits upon request in line with the Internal Audit Schedule.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements, following the SWIM process when required to highlight concerns.
- Additional responsibilities and projects as required by the business.

Essential Experience
- Significant proven experience within a quality inspection role in manufacturing and/or engineering.
- Significant experience operating a CMM, including programming and problem solving.
- Experience in FAIR generation and collation.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding engineering drawings (GD&T).
- Extensive experience with manual inspection and measuring equipment.
- Experience using root‑cause analysis tools (8‑Ds, 5‑Why, etc.).
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of quality processes (PPAP, APQP, Six Sigma).
- Experience within an A/EN‑9100 aerospace quality system.
- Familiarity with Lean initiatives.
