Job Title: CMM Measurement Engineer

Working Pattern: Full-time

Job Location: Derby/Onsite

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented CMM Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in the Turbine Blade Facility in Derby. As a CMM Manufacturing Engineer, you will work in the Turbine Blade Facility Proof Inspection team within the Turbines commodity, one of the fastest growing and advanced business units within the Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace Supply Chain.

You will be self-motivated and capable of writing CMM programmes for Turbine Blade inspection in the TBF. You will also provide production support for automated measurement equipment and programs within the facility, as well as carry out proof inspection of Turbine Blade products.

What you will be doing:

  • Create, modify, and overcheck CMM programs.
  • Ensure CMM inspection processes are fully compliant with drawings and regulatory requirements.
  • Support New Product Introduction projects by creating inspection programs for development and production hardware.
  • Influence the direction of TBF inspection strategies to meet future product requirements.
  • Ensure full compliance with company, legislative, and technical policies and standards, including Export Control, Intellectual Property, and Cyber Security.

Who we're looking for:

  • Experience in measurement activities with a deep understanding of metrology standards (NMSA levels or equivalent).
  • Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Materials discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with MCOSMOS or similar, creating and validating automated measurement programs to AS13003 or equivalent.
  • Support and resolve production issues with automated measurement equipment.
  • Proficient in IT skills (Minitab, Microsoft Office, Project).
  • Basic programming skills (Python, VBA) are beneficial.
  • Motivated with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deliver in a high-volume environment.
  • Practical manufacturing engineering experience, including improvement projects using Six Sigma tools, is desirable.
  • Understanding of automated visual inspection (e.g., OGP, Werth) is a plus but not essential.
