Job summary

The Northern Health and Social Care Trust invites applications for a Temporary Associate Psychologist in the Community Mental Health Team (Band 5). Based in Larne/Carrickfergus/Newtownabbey/Antrim, you will deliver brief psychological interventions within CMHTs under supervision and contribute to a Trust-wide Brief Intervention Therapy strategy.

You will engage in multidisciplinary collaboration and ensure high-quality record keeping and professional practice.

Qualifications

• Honours Degree in Psychology confers eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
• Post-graduate training at certificate/diploma/masters level in an applied therapy model (e.g., CBT) and 12 months’ post graduate experience, or 18 months’ post graduate experience delivering psychological interventions under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide brief psychological interventions within a CMHT in line with accreditation standards and good practice.
• Support development of Brief Intervention Therapy across CMHTs in a designated area.
• Assist in development and facilitation of Step 2 brief intervention groups under supervision.
• Maintain high standards of clinical record keeping and reporting per professional codes and Trust policies.
• Attend multidisciplinary meetings and represent a psychological perspective.
• Contribute to training and CPD and to development of evidence-based practice.
