POSITION SUMMARY

The Compression Molding “C” operator is responsible for the overall quality of the caps, ensuring smooth operation of the machines, adding compound to machines, and keeping the area clean and organized. This role involves heavy lifting (~50 lbs) and physical demands, especially during hot/humid months.

Opportunities for advancement exist within the department from Level C, B, A, with potential to join an apprenticeship program to become a set-up mechanic.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Operate up to 7 molding machines, with authorization for Alliance machines.
  • Take quality shots hourly and record results accurately.
  • Prepare production reports and tickets, ensuring they match.
  • Inspect caps for defects and remove excess flash.
  • Check caps for issues like blisters, burns, or cracks, and report to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the department, sweeping the floor regularly.
  • Add powder to barrels as needed.
  • Remove barrels of caps, weigh, and transport to the washer.
  • Turn powder on/off via HMI control when machine or quality issues arise (Level C operators cannot turn powder on).
  • Record labor and material issues in SAP as required.
  • Clean inside the cage after approval from a Setup Mechanic or Supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High School Diploma or GED.
