Job summary

Giffnock North Amateur Athletic Club in Scotland is seeking a skilled Cook to join our busy kitchen team. You will prepare and serve high-quality food for match days, events and club functions, while ensuring top hygiene and presentation standards.

The role requires working Thursday to Sunday with a friendly, supportive team in a community-focused club. Experience in busy kitchens, familiarity with Rational ovens, and a passion for consistent, well-presented food are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cook in a busy kitchen.
• Experience using a Rational oven is essential.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene, food safety and HACCP procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently when required and as part of a team.
• Reliable, hardworking and flexible approach.
• Passion for producing good-quality, consistent food.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve high-quality food to a consistent standard.
• Follow agreed recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including a Rational oven.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen organisation.
• Ensure all food safety and HACCP procedures are followed.
• Manage multiple orders efficiently during busy service periods.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with stock rotation and storage.
• Minimise food waste and maintain appropriate portion control.
• Assist with food preparation for club functions and events.
• Work closely with other members of the team to ensure an efficient and friendly service.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
