Job summary

Experis - ManpowerGroup in Sheffield is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Strategic Engineering team in Cyber Security. This role focuses on production-grade backend services, APIs, and tooling using Go, Python, Java, or C#. Onsite three days per week, with umbrella contract.

You will design, build, test, and deploy scalable systems in AWS/Azure, implement CI/CD, and contribute to SRE practices, automation, and observability, while adhering to SOLID and best practices.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with hands-on development.
• Production systems using Go, Python, Java, or C#.
• Experience designing and building APIs, microservices, and backend services.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design principles, and engineering best practices.
• Experience with automated testing approaches (TDD, BDD, unit/integration).
• Experience working with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and supporting production environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services, APIs, and engineering tools.
• Deploy, support, and operate services within AWS and/or Azure environments.
• Automate platform provisioning through Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and support CI/CD pipelines.
• Tackle production incidents and contribute to operational support activities and observability.
