Job summary

SBS is seeking a Managed Cloud Security Lead in Sheffield to protect customer environments, improve security reporting, and support audits. The role combines vulnerability management with exposure-focused remediation in a hybrid work setting with at least two days in the office.

The candidate will lead security reporting, coordinate patching, and collaborate with admins to reduce exposure while driving automation and practical risk reduction across managed cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience in cloud security, infrastructure security, security operations or a similar security role.
• Practical cloud environment experience; AWS preferred but other clouds welcome.
• Strong vulnerability management and remediation follow-up knowledge.
• Exposure to Rapid7 or similar tooling (Tenable, Qualys, Nessus, Defender for Cloud).
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and see issues to resolution.
• Excellent communication to explain risks and influence security practices.
• Interest in automation and using tools/AI to reduce manual effort.
• Experience with audits, customer security reporting or compliance evidence gathering is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen security posture in managed cloud environments with vulnerability and exposure management.
• Improve reporting and compliance profile to enable continual improvement.
• Monitor security findings across cloud and infrastructure environments and prioritize remediation.
• Coordinate patching with system admins and support teams to reduce exposure.
• Use security tooling (Rapid7 or equivalents) for monitoring, remediation tracking and reporting.
• Prepare clear security reports for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Support customer audits and evidence gathering for compliance activities.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve reporting.
• Advocate good security practices and act as a confident security voice within the team.
