Job summary

MCS Group is representing a Belfast-based technology business seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to join our engineering organization on a hybrid, permanent basis. The role focuses on strengthening security across cloud-based products and infrastructure and working closely with software and platform teams.

You will embed security into engineering practices, help design secure architectures, improve CI/CD security, and drive automation across development lifecycles.

Cloud Security Engineer

Belfast | Hybrid | Permanent

MCS Group is working with a growing technology business that is looking to add a Cloud Security Engineer to its engineering organisation.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with software and platform teams and wants to help strengthen security across modern cloud-based products and infrastructure.

You'll work alongside engineers, architects and technical leaders to improve how security is designed, implemented and automated across the development lifecycle.

The Role

The Security Engineer will help embed security into engineering practices and support teams in building secure, scalable cloud environments as part of a close-knit but growing security function.

You'll be involved in areas such as:

• Cloud security across AWS environments
• Reviewing and improving security architecture
• Cloud security posture and configuration
• Supporting secure software development
• Security automation and tooling
• Working with engineering teams on vulnerabilities and remediation
• IAM and access controls
• CI/CD and DevSecOps practices
• Infrastructure and platform security
• Helping establish practical security standards across engineering teams

What We're Looking For

Our client is open to a range of backgrounds, but you'll ideally have experience across some of the following:

• AWS or another major cloud platform
• Cloud security tooling such as Wiz or similar platforms
• Product, platform or infrastructure security
• Security architecture
• DevSecOps
• Security automation
• Vulnerability management
• IAM
• Secure by Design principles
• Working directly with software or platform engineering teams

You could currently be working as a Cloud Security Engineer, Product Security Engineer, DevSecOps Engineer, Platform Security Engineer or even Security Architect. The most important thing is that you're technically strong, practical in your approach and comfortable working closely with engineers.
