Purpose of the role
To design, develop, and improve software, utilizing various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities
- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements, devise solutions, and ensure seamless integration aligned with business objectives.
- Participate in code reviews, promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry trends and innovations; contribute to technology communities to foster technical excellence.
- Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect data.
- Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure code quality and reliability.

To succeed, you should have experience with:
- Leading and scaling technical teams in governance environments
- AWS/Azure cloud platforms and observability tools (Elastic, Grafana, Splunk, DataDog, etc.)
- SRE/DevOps methodologies with Python for automation and infrastructure-as-code
Valued additional skills include:
- AWS or Azure certifications
- Implementing AI-driven observability and AIOps solutions
- Background in large-scale distributed systems and microservices
This role is based in Northampton.
