Job summary

Amazon UK Services Ltd. is offering a Software Development Engineer internship in the UK.

Interns work full-time, typically Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with mentor support and opportunities to contribute to real projects that impact millions of customers. You will collaborate with experienced Amazonians, design scalable cloud-native solutions, and participate in code reviews while building operationally excellent systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or related field at time of application.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python, Java or Perl.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and OS concepts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design, build, and operate innovative products.
• Design and develop scalable cloud-native microservices.
• Participate in code reviews and document technical work.
• Build and maintain distributed systems that are scalable and fault-tolerant.
• Leverage GenAI and AI-powered tools to improve development productivity.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices.
• Demonstrate operational excellence through monitoring and troubleshooting production issues.
