Part of the Global Information Security Group (GISG), the Information Security Services (ISS) team—including the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) and Vulnerability Attack Surface Defense (VASD)—protects KPMG and its clients from cyber threats through detection, investigation, and remediation.

Role Summary

The Cloud Monitoring & Compliance Engineer ensures visibility into security and compliance across KPMG’s cloud-native environments. Responsibilities include managing security configurations, ensuring adherence to guardrails, and supporting the security of data and systems within cloud environments. The role involves managing GSOC tools on Windows, Azure, and O365 platforms, and collaborating with a team of security professionals to monitor multi-cloud environments.

The key responsibilities include:

  1. Analyzing MDC Product alerts related to CWP & CSPM for impacted clients.
  2. Customizing and enhancing Cloud Security Posture Management and Cloud Workflow Protection features to meet KPMG requirements.
  3. Onboarding new tenants and cloud providers.
  4. Planning and implementing automated remediation activities.
  5. Liaising with vendors to optimize product investments and influence roadmaps.
  6. Managing, troubleshooting, and maintaining security tools.
  7. Collaborating with other teams to identify new opportunities.
  8. Ensuring compliance with internal controls and standards.
  9. Using DevOps practices to document project tasks.

Key Accountabilities

  • Analyzing MDC Product alerts.
  • Customizing CSPM and CWP features to meet specific requirements.
  • Implementing automated remediation.
  • Vendor engagement for product development.
  • Onboarding cloud tenants and providers.
  • Managing security tools daily.

Experience / Qualifications

  • Solid IT experience with major cloud providers.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Security Posture Management tools (e.g., Microsoft MDC, Twistlock, Redlock).
  • Experience in securing cloud environments, including compliance and certification.
  • Understanding of API security standards.
  • Knowledge of exploits, malware, ransomware, and detection methods.
  • Experience with web architecture and system administration.
  • Proficiency in building complex queries (RQL, KQL, SQL).
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP security configurations.
  • Programming skills in Python or PowerShell.
