Job title: Cloud Infrastructure & Security Lead – Azure / Microsoft 365

Client: Insurance

Location: London / Hybrid

Role overview:

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable Infrastructure & Security Engineer to join their team. The role involves working in a hybrid environment, with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote each week.

The position combines expertise in Microsoft Azure, 365, Infrastructure Engineering, and Security, covering both BAU operations and project work.

Responsibilities include:

1. Infrastructure:

• Transitioning from on-premises to fully Cloud-based Infrastructure (Azure)
• Providing expert knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure platforms
• Implementing automation via IaC and DevOps methodologies
• Managing End-of-Life (EoL) and decommissioning of legacy systems
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation
• Overseeing End-User Computing (EUC) via Intune
• Managing patch deployment
• Supporting the growth towards a fully Cloud-based environment

Security:

• Designing and enforcing security and access management policies
• Managing Identity and Access Management (IAM)
• Threat monitoring and detection using tools like Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, SIEM
• Ensuring compliance with security frameworks such as ISO27001, NIST, GDPR

Core skills required:

• Strong security experience related to ISO27001, NIST, and similar frameworks
• IAM expertise
• Threat management and incident response skills
• Experience in third-party and vendor management
• Leadership ability to guide a small team by example
