Job summary

SLR Consulting in Greater London is seeking an experienced DevOps/SRE engineer to design, implement and optimize scalable cloud infrastructure and automation across client platforms.

You will architect AWS-based deployments, manage Kubernetes clusters with Terraform and Helm, build automated pipelines using GitHub Actions, Python and Bash, and monitor health with Prometheus and Grafana while pursuing cost efficiency and strong security practices.

Qualifications

• Experience managing AWS infrastructure in a DevOps/SRE role.
• Proficient with IaC (Terraform) and automation workflows (GitHub Actions).
• Strong Python and Bash scripting skills.
• Experience building/maintaining production-grade Kubernetes clusters.
• Knowledge of security controls at the infrastructure level.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana and ELK for monitoring/logging.
• Ability to identify improvements and optimise costs.

Focus on designing and implementing infrastructure and automation solutions to ensure a smooth working platform

What This Role Will Do

• Architect and deploy cloud solutions using AWS, Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform to support the platform and its plugins, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Leverage GitHub Actions, Python, and Bash to automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment pipelines, and operational workflows, enhancing efficiency and reducing manual effort.
• Use Prometheus and Grafana to monitor infrastructure health, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve performance, availability, and cost efficiency.
• Implement security best practices at every layer of the infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safeguarding client deployments.
• Work cross-functionally to align infrastructure with project goals, contribute to RFPs, and create comprehensive documentation for new and existing cloud infrastructure to support knowledge sharing and operational continuity.

Skills Required

• Proven experience in managing infrastructure on AWS in a DevOps/SRE role.
• Strong experience managing infrastructure with IaC (Terraform preferred) and writing automation workflows (GitHub actions preferred).
• Proficient with Python and bash scripting.
• Experience around building and managing production-grade Kubernetes clusters.
• Knowledge of security best practices and the ability to implement security controls at the infrastructure level.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.
• Evaluate the existing setup and identify areas of improvements and cost optimisation.
