Key responsibilities for this role focus on deploying and maintaining secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across public and hybrid environments, with emphasis on automation, IaC, monitoring, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Support the deployment and maintenance of secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure across public and hybrid environments
- Contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) development using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates
- Monitor cloud infrastructure for performance, availability, cost, and security, leveraging monitoring and alerting tools
- Participate in incident response and troubleshooting efforts related to cloud services and infrastructure issues
- Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to develop reusable templates, deployment patterns, and support frameworks
- Assist in automation initiatives, creating scripts and tooling to streamline deployments and reduce manual tasks
- Help document infrastructure designs, operational runbooks, and standard procedures to ensure team knowledge-sharing and consistency
- Support cloud cost optimisation, including identifying underutilised resources and recommending right-sizing strategies
- Follow and support security and compliance best practices, ensuring all configurations align with internal and external standards
- Work cross-functionally with development, security, and support teams to ensure reliable and consistent service delivery
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and participate in internal knowledge-sharing sessions and team development activities
Qualifications & Experience
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates
- Experience administering Linux/Unix or Windows Server environments in a cloud or virtualised setup
- A foundational understanding of cloud networking concepts such as VPCs, subnets, firewalls, VPNs, and routing
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (desirable)
- Exposure to scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Understanding of cloud monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Google Stackdriver)
- Experience working in collaborative teams using Agile or DevOps methodologies (a plus)
- Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, or Associate-level certifications (preferred but not required)
