This role bridges technology, finance, and business, ensuring that investments in AWS, Azure, and GCP deliver maximum value. You will be responsible for embedding FinOps practices, promoting cost transparency, and supporting engineering and finance teams in building a cost-aware culture.

Overview

Seeking a Cloud FinOps Practitioner to help optimise cloud financial management across a multi-region modernisation programme. This role bridges technology, finance, and business, ensuring that investments in AWS, Azure, and GCP deliver maximum value. You will be responsible for embedding FinOps practices, promoting cost transparency, and supporting engineering and finance teams in building a cost-aware culture.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with engineering, finance & product stakeholders to establish FinOps principles
  • Monitor and analyse cloud spend using hyperscaler-native and third-party tools
  • Provide actionable insights for optimisation (rightsizing, commitments, scheduling)
  • Build and maintain reporting dashboards, KPIs, and unit economics visibility
  • Implement governance policies, tagging standards, and chargeback/showback models
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis of cloud spend
  • Collaborate on vendor negotiations and contract optimisation with procurement/finance
  • Educate teams on FinOps best practices and promote cost accountability
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong understanding of AWS, Azure, and GCP services and pricing models
  • Hands-on with cost management tools (Apptio Cloudability, CloudHealth, Flexera, Cost Explorer, etc.)
  • Background in financial variance analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Ability to analyse cloud usage data and deliver optimisation recommendations
  • Ability to translate concepts between technical and financial teams
Desirable
  • FinOps certification(s) or Experience working in a certified organization
  • Familiarity with chargeback/showback frameworks & unit economics
  • Scripting skills (Python, SQL) for automation/reporting
  • Multi-cloud enterprise experience
  • Cloud certifications
