Job description

Salary: £70,000

Location: South West UK - Once a month on site

As a fast-growing, cloud-first SaaS platform, we’re driving major infrastructure change, and we want you to help lead it.

The Opportunity: We’re embarking on a strategic cloud migration project, moving a substantial legacy application estate to the cloud. This includes migrating SQL Server databases and building purpose-fit VMs in the cloud. We're looking for a hands-on Cloud Engineer who thrives on challenge, innovation, and ownership. You’ll play a pivotal role in planning, executing, and optimising a secure, high-performing cloud environment, leveraging native cloud services, automation tools, and best practices every step of the way.

What You’ll Do

  1. Drive the migration of legacy infrastructure and applications to the cloud
  2. Build and manage cloud-native infrastructure on GCP (or similar platforms)
  3. Handle cloud storage, load balancing, block storage, and autoscaling
  4. Resolve performance issues and optimise reliability
  5. Collaborate across dev and ops teams to streamline workflows
  6. Monitor infrastructure health and implement alerting systems
  7. Support containerisation and orchestration initiatives
  8. Maintain documentation and ensure consistency across environments

What You’ll Bring

  1. Hands-on experience with cloud migration (GCP, Azure, or AWS)
  2. Strong knowledge of virtual machines, databases, storage, and networking in the cloud
  3. Comfort working with both Linux and/or Windows environments
  4. Scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell, or Python
  5. Familiarity with Active Directory in Azure (nice to have)
  6. Proactive mindset and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach

Benefits include: Fully remote within the UK, enhanced pension (5% employee / 4% employer), private medical cover, 25 days annual leave + 8 public holidays, life assurance, and more.
