We’re supporting a trusted digital transformation partner to the UK Government and National Security community, in hiring a Cloud Engineer for a high-impact Greenfield programme, providing you with the chance to really make a difference.

This role suits a technically minded ex-military professional with commercial engineering or DevOps experience who thrives in agile, cutting-edge environments. You’ll join a flat-structured, collaborative, and fast-paced team, where your initiative and technical curiosity are valued as much as your skillset. You’ll design, build, and automate secure cloud environments that underpin sensitive national security operations.

Responsibilities

• Automating application and infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment.
• Working within a multidisciplinary Agile/Scrum team.
• Implementing CI/CD pipelines and containerised solutions.
• Applying security best practices within a highly classified setting.

Required/Desired Skills

• Cloud: AWS (CloudFormation, Terraform) – Azure also considered.
• Automation: CI/CD pipelines (DroneCI ideal), AWS Developer Tools (CodeBuild/CodePipeline).
• Containerisation: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Scripting: Advanced Linux admin and Bash scripting.
• Tools: GitHub / GitLab, Ansible.
• Security: Understanding of best practices – Kubernetes security groups, HTTP headers, mutual authentication, etc.
