Region: London and South East, Remote/Home working, South West

We’re supporting a trusted digital transformation partner to the UK Government and National Security community, in hiring a Cloud Engineer for a high-impact Greenfield programme, providing you with the chance to really make a difference.

This role suits a technically minded ex-military professional with commercial engineering or DevOps experience who thrives in agile, cutting-edge environments. You’ll join a flat-structured, collaborative, and fast-paced team, where your initiative and technical curiosity are valued as much as your skillset. We encourage candidates to apply even if they do not meet every listed requirement. It’s essential to have an active eDV clearance (UKIC).

You’ll design, build, and automate secure cloud environments that underpin sensitive national security operations.

Responsibilities
  • Automating application and infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment.
  • Working within a multidisciplinary Agile/Scrum team.
  • Implementing CI/CD pipelines and containerised solutions.
  • Applying security best practices within a highly classified setting.
Required/Desired Skills
  • Cloud: AWS (CloudFormation, Terraform) – Azure also considered.
  • Automation: CI/CD pipelines (DroneCI ideal), AWS Developer Tools (CodeBuild/CodePipeline).
  • Containerisation: Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Scripting: Advanced Linux admin and Bash scripting.
  • Tools: GitHub / GitLab, Ansible.
  • Security: Understanding of best practices – Kubernetes security groups, HTTP headers, mutual authentication, etc.
