We are supporting one of our clients in their search for a Cloud Native Engineer to join a growing engineering team. This is a remote position open to candidates located in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-native applications and infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with developers, DevOps, and platform teams using the latest cloud, containerization, and automation tools.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build cloud-native applications using microservices architecture
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows
• Architect, implement, and maintain Kubernetes clusters (e.g., EKS, AKS, GKE)
• Automate infrastructure provisioning with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Pulumi
• Implement observability tools (monitoring, logging, tracing) such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry
• Ensure platform security using best practices in identity, access management, and network policies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define cloud architecture standards and promote DevSecOps practices
• Troubleshoot system issues and conduct root cause analysis

Your Background

• Proven experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration tools (e.g., Helm, Argo CD, Flux)
• Strong knowledge of Docker and microservices architecture
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Pulumi, or similar IaC tools
• Familiarity with service mesh technologies like Istio or Linkerd
• Experience with modern CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or Jenkins X
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Go
• Knowledge of cloud-native security tools and best practices (e.g., OPA, Kyverno, Aqua, Prisma Cloud)

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or equivalent certification
• Experience working in regulated sectors (e.g., finance, healthcare)
• Familiarity with serverless frameworks like AWS Lambda or Knative
• Contributions to open-source cloud-native projects
