WRK digital are thrilled to be partnered with Skipton Building Society supporting the growth of their cloud engineering and architecture functions. As part of their cloud engineering team expansion, we are seeking an IT Cloud Engineer to join the team!

As an IT Cloud Engineer, you will focus on the delivery of services and automation within our cloud-based IT services hosted on Microsoft Azure. You will be responsible for creating operational solutions in the Azure cloud environment, ensuring its efficiency, security, and scalability, in line with business needs.

This is a great opportunity to work as part of a highly skilled team with Senior Cloud Engineers providing mentoring and guidance to help develop your skills and progress within your career.

As an IT Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  1. Delivering cloud-based solutions within the Azure environment, ensuring operational efficiency and flexibility.
  2. Monitoring cloud performance against service level agreements (SLAs) and making recommendations for optimisation to maximise resource utilisation.
  3. Troubleshooting issues that arise with cloud services.
  4. Migrating existing systems to the cloud and deploying new cloud solutions.
  5. Developing effective cloud-based processes, ensuring maximum security, scalability, and reliability of services. Working to ensure that cloud services are configured in line with governance policies to mitigate risks, maintain compliance, and safeguard sensitive data.
  6. Working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the cloud services meet the organisation's evolving needs, communicating information at both technical and non-technical levels.
  7. Staying up to date with the latest trends and advancements in cloud technologies, bringing innovative solutions and improvements to the organisation.

As an IT Cloud Engineer, you will have:

  1. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
  2. An understanding of virtual networks, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers.
  3. Experience implementing security measures like encryption, firewalls, and identity management.
  4. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  5. Experience developing and delivering cloud-based solutions.
  6. Knowledge across multiple cloud technologies, with the ability to deliver value within these areas.
