Cloud Engineer – Azure | Glasgow | Hybrid | Permanent

Our global Glasgow based client is seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to join their Cloud Platform Team and help drive the transformation of their enterprise-scale Azure environment.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a strong infrastructure background and a passion for automation and cloud technologies. You’ will work with modern DevOps tools, build everything in code, and play a key role in maintaining and optimising Azure platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and support Azure IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid environments.
  • Automate deployments using DevOps pipelines and IaC (Bicep, PowerShell, CLI).
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and uphold security best practices.
  • Work in agile sprints and contribute to continuous improvement.
Key Priorities
  • Day-to-day maintenance, ticket handling, and monitoring of Azure environments.
  • Everything is built in code—a strong automation mindset is essential.
  • Ideal for candidates from an infrastructure background with solid automation experience.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience supporting Azure cloud environments or equivalent infrastructure (e.g. VMware with automation).
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator (required).
  • Strong knowledge of Azure IaaS and PaaS services.
  • High level of security awareness and understanding of best practices.
  • Proficiency in Azure CLI, PowerShell, Bicep, and DevOps tooling; or equivalent orchestration and automation expertise.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, RBAC, and Azure Policy.
  • Agile delivery experience, including working in Sprints and Retrospectives.
  • Familiarity with ITSM frameworks (incident, change, service request).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
