A leading foodservice company in the UK is seeking a Cloud Engineer to manage Azure cloud infrastructure. This role involves design, implementation, and management tasks, while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Applicants should have a strong background in Azure technologies and cloud security. Sysco are currently recruiting for a Cloud Engineer to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis. For this role we are offering a hybrid working contract with a blend of home-working so you must be comfortable and flexible with travel and commuting 3 times per week to our Ashford head office and other offices where needed.
As the Cloud Engineer you will oversee the design, implementation, and management of our cloud infrastructure on the Microsoft Azure platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess requirements, develop cloud solutions, and ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of our cloud-based systems. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Azure architecture and a deep understanding of cloud computing technologies. You will participate in architecture reviews of Azure environments, bring engineering best practices, lead changes toward delivery excellence at Sysco.
To be successful in this role you will have extensive knowledge of Azure infrastructure, services, and offerings, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Networking, and Azure Active Directory. You will have a successful track record in architecting, designing, implementing, and managing systems and infrastructure in a cloud computing environment, including multi-cloud hybrid architectures and be certified in Microsoft Azure Administrator or Architect Expert level. You will have a solid understanding of different cloud environments and applications, including hybrid scenarios, optimizing cost/capacity ratios, scaling, implementing, and validating database & DR scenarios, security, and compliance. You will also have knowledge of cloud security controls including conditional access policies, tenant isolation, encryption at rest, encryption in transit, key management, federated authentication vulnerability assessments, application firewalls, SIEM, etc.
