Job summary

Cognizant is hiring for a Platform Engineer to join our Platform function in London. You will design, build, operate a Kubernetes-based platform on AWS, collaborating with Security, Architecture and Developer Experience teams.

The role demands hands-on expertise in production Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, observability, and automation, with 5 days in the London office and a short notice period where applicable.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience.
• Proven track record of building and managing continual automation / deployment / delivery.
• Proficiency running infrastructure on cloud platforms, such as AWS and GCP, appreciation for their failure modes, and a good understanding of network concepts and fundamentals.
• Expertise in managing and maintaining Kubernetes clusters in production.
• Excellent knowledge on observability tooling and best practices.
• Experience working within or alongside engineering teams to deliver.

Job description

Operating within the Platform function alongside Security, Architecture and Developer Experience teams, you'll be heavily involved with all our technical infrastructure, from designing, through build and the ongoing operation of a platform running in Kubernetes on AWS.

Role require 5 days working from office in London . Looking for candidates with 1 Month or less notice periods.

• Standardise deployment and usage of cloud resources to ease technology adoption and comply with security controls
• Work with stakeholders, such as security, to understand the requirements of the platform
