Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking a Database Administrator Engineer to maintain secure, scalable cloud-based databases in a global legal environment. You will implement backups, security controls, and design databases to support enterprise applications and analytics.

The role involves proactive monitoring, performance tuning, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability, resilience and cost efficiency of our data platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in database administration, preferably in a cloud environment.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Strong SQL, Python and database management tool skills.
• Experience with SecDevOps/CloudOps practices to build and operate cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage backup procedures to safeguard data and ensure recoverability.
• Implement robust database security measures including access controls, encryption and monitoring.
• Design and structure databases with schemas, tables, indexes to meet application needs.
• Collaborate with developers to support applications and reporting requirements.
• Monitor database performance and tune queries, indexes, and resources to optimise reliability.
