BN-IS is a small IT consultancy focused on Microsoft cloud, infrastructure and security. We are looking to hire one, or possibly two, people who can grow into a consultative role, from infrastructure engineers to IT managers, with ownership and varied project work.
You’ll work directly with senior consultants, servicing customers across Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID and Intune, while developing across different client environments.
Some people enjoy having a clearly defined role, a steady queue of tickets, and a team around them to escape problems to.
Others enjoy a bit more variety. They like figuring things out, taking responsibility, and being the person customers know they can rely on.
If you're in the second camp, we could have a really interesting opportunity for you!
We're BN-IS, a small, established IT consultancy supporting businesses across their Microsoft cloud, infrastructure and security environments.
We're looking for one, potentially two, people to join our team. Whether you're an experienced infrastructure engineer ready to step into a more consultative role, an internal IT Manager looking for greater variety, or an established consultant wanting more ownership, we're open to different backgrounds.
What matters most to us is your technical ability, how you approach problems, and how you work with people.
We're not a large MSP where you're one of dozens of engineers working through a queue.
We're a small team where everyone gets involved, from everyday support requests through to more complex infrastructure challenges and cloud projects.
You'll work directly with experienced senior consultants, build relationships with our customers and have a genuine say in how problems are approached and solved.
There's plenty of variety, and you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills across different technologies and client environments.
We're also a business where your contribution is noticed. Good ideas don't need to travel through five layers of management, and taking ownership can make a real difference.
Your responsibilities will depend on your experience, but will include:
At Senior level, you'll take greater ownership of complex technical work, client relationships and project delivery, while helping support less experienced colleagues.
You'll need a solid background in Microsoft infrastructure, whether that's from an MSP, consultancy, or internal IT environment.
Ideally, you'll bring:
You don't need to know everything. At Senior level, you might be particularly strong in Microsoft 365 or Azure rather than both. What matters is having a good technical foundation and the confidence to work through unfamiliar challenges.
It's worth being upfront: this is a busy, varied role.
Some days you'll be working on an interesting cloud project. Other days, a customer might need help with something relatively straightforward but equally important to them.
You'll need to be comfortable switching priorities, dealing directly with customers and knowing when to ask for support.
If you're looking for a role where you can focus exclusively on project work, this probably won't be the right fit.
But if you enjoy variety, like taking ownership and want to be part of a team where your work has a visible impact, there's a lot to like.
There's no formal on-call rota, although some flexibility is needed for occasional planned out-of-hours work, such as infrastructure migrations.
You don't need to have 'Consultant' in your current job title.
If you're a Microsoft Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Engineer, IT Manager, Cloud Engineer or already working in consultancy, we'd be interested in hearing from you.
We're particularly keen to speak with people who enjoy the technical side of IT but also understand that delivering a great service is about more than simply fixing the problem.
If that sounds like you, get in touch for an informal conversation.
