Job DescriptionCloud Automation Engineer | Azure, Windows Server, Terraform | FinTech Software Company

• £500 a day




• Outside IR35




• Remote working (within travelling distance to London)




• 3 month contract

Our client is a globally respected organisation whose products underpin the pricing infrastructure for key financial markets. Their platform is business-critical, reliability, automation and security are non-negotiable. You'll help shape how infrastructure is delivered globally, with full support but minimal hand-holding.

This isn’t just about spinning up VMs. It’s about engineering stability and repeatability into enterprise Windows environments, scaling to hundreds of virtual machines, baked with security, monitoring, IIS, Service Fabric clusters, and more.

Key Skills:

• Azure – virtual machines at scale, VMSS, templates




• Windows Server – 2019 / 2022 / 2024 (There are 100+ VMs sitting inside the Azure estate)




• Terraform – ideally, but Bicep or ARM templates also considered




• GitHub or Azure DevOps

Projects you’ll work on:

• Build automated pipelines to create and update standardised Windows image




• Implement tooling for weekly rebuilds (e.g. post–Windows Update Tuesday)




• Engineer secure, production-ready VM templates to include fabric/IIS/web service




• Design automation processes that can be repeated at scale with minimal manual input




• Ensure compliance with cyber security and audit requirement




• Collaborate with DevOps and platform leads, but expected to work self-directed

What They're Looking For:

• You’ve done this before. You’ve built golden images for Windows in Azure, engineered automation to handle regular rebuilds, and made it secure, fast, and production-ready.




• You’re used to working at enterprise scale and thinking in systems, not scripts.
