Orbis Group in London is seeking a hands-on Lead Architect to shape production-grade cloud platforms for major telecoms clients. You will translate ambiguous business problems into scalable data and cloud solutions using GCP, Dataflow, BigQuery, and Gemini-based AI.
The role blends design leadership with hands-on delivery, running architecture workshops, setting technical direction, and guiding junior engineers while ensuring security, compliance and performance from day one.
This Google Cloud partner helps organisations get real value from Google Cloud across cloud, data, AI and agentic systems, with fast-growing demand around Gemini Enterprise. Their engagements take clients from strategy through to production and sit alongside their teams, shape the technical direction, and build the platforms.
As a member of their architecture team, you’ll work mainly with major telecoms clients on large-scale GCP and hybrid environments. Clients will rely on you as their go-to technical voice. You’ll be the person who turns ambiguous business problems into platforms that work in production. The work spans data, AI, platform engineering, DevOps, and migrations.
At this firm, a Lead Architect is a hands-on technical leader. Around three-quarters of the role is building and the rest is design leadership: setting direction, running workshops, and presenting to client stakeholders. You’ll own the technical quality of what they deliver and act as an ambassador for their engineering standards.
This is a hybrid role, with a minimum of three days a week in their central London office or at client sites in London.
