Principal Application Architect – Cloud Services

A leading technology services provider is seeking an experienced Cloud Application Architect to take ownership of the architectural design and development of enterprise-scale software applications, with a focus on cloud platforms. This is a strategic, high-impact role offering up to £100k base salary, bonus (10–15%), company car/allowance, and comprehensive benefits.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across application design and development, translating business requirements into scalable, maintainable, and secure cloud-native solutions. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-moving and well-established business with a strong footprint in the enterprise IT sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end application architecture strategy for cloud-based solutions
• Ideally in multi-cloud based solutions.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to gather and interpret technical and business requirements
• Provide oversight across the full software development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with architectural best practices
• Mentor development teams and ensure adherence to coding and design standards
• Maintain architectural documentation and governance
• Stay current with emerging technologies and development methodologies

Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in software application architecture, ideally within cloud-first or hybrid environments
• Proficient across a range of programming languages and frameworks
• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps, etc.)
• Able to guide and influence development teams while remaining hands-on when required
• Excellent stakeholder communication and leadership skills
• Must be eligible to obtain Government and/or Police Security Clearance (no caveats)
