Job summary

FCC Environment is seeking an Inert and Closed Landfill Site Supervisor to ensure safe, compliant operations across inert and closed sites. You will supervise contractor activities, oversee restoration works and perform regular site inspections while liaising with regulators and customers.

The role requires strong health and safety knowledge, supervisory experience, and the ability to travel between sites, with a competitive package and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising waste/landfill operations and contractor activities.
• Awareness of environmental permits and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to use MS Office and smartphones in daily operations.
• Strong health and safety awareness and safe systems of work.
• Willingness to travel between sites and work outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inert and closed landfill sites to ensure safe, compliant operations.
• Monitor activities per permits, company procedures and contracts.
• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly site inspections and checks.
• Oversee contractors across multiple sites.
• Ensure safe handling of waste, soil, and restoration materials.
• Liaise with customers, regulators and stakeholders.
• Support landfill gas and leachate management for environmental compliance.
• Organise site inductions for contractors and visitors.
• Identify maintenance needs and coordinate remedial works.
• Promote health, safety and environmental culture on site.
